I felt a little strange about paying this much for a wallet but I’m glad I did! My old chain wallet was getting worn out and as I am growing up I felt it was less and less professional. I am always loosing my wallet if it isn’t attached to me and this ended up being a great solution. The retractable cord is solid and low key. The overall quality of the wallet is better than any that I’ve had. There is enough space for my most important pieces of ID and credit cards. Overall very happy with this purchase.

I bought this wallet for my husband since he needed something durable, lightweight and something he could attach to his belt and not loose.. It was ALL Of those and he loves this wallet.. the only thing that needs improvement is they need to design it to where it will hold just a little bit more and still close well.. once you get your license, credit cards and money inside, it better be limited or your wallet will NOT close well.. my only complaint

Purchased this for my nephew. So far he loves this wallet. I have the kevlar version with the clip. Civilian has a great line of high quality products. My wallets usually don’t last and wear out. So far the civilian lab wallet is still holding out. What is cool about this wallet is that it has two magnets to keep your wallet closed. The kevlar version has velcro and the noise can get annoying at times. Overall great products from Civilian.

Been using this wallet for a few weeks now. No frayed wallet loop. Impressions:

    - This wallet is pretty small. That’s mostly a good thing, though I note the credit card pockets are very tight. I am having to double up cards in each pocket, which probably is the real problem, but I expect this issue to go away as the wallet breaks in.

    - The tether works great, though it seems complex compared to a chain. The wallet loop hooks to a clasp, which hooks to the reel, whose line ends in another clasp/carabiner, which attaches to the leather belt loop. I sort of wish the belt loop had a snap so that I didn’t have to take off my belt to get rid of my wallet, but it hasn’t mattered yet.

    - Viewing window is a great idea but could have been placed so as to show the denomination of the outermost bill. Magnetic snaps work fine despite my having overstuffed the wallet already. They haven’t erased any of my cards yet.

On the whole I am very happy with this wallet. It isn’t perfect, but it’s pretty close.

The reason you buy a wallet like this is to guarantee that you don’t lose it. The first day I had it (today), I wore mine for 4 hours, reached for my wallet and found it barely attached to the flimsy loop that had become frayed. I don’t know why this happened, as there was nothing else in the pocket of my khakis and I used the components that came with it. Perhaps it’s defective. I’ll try to get a replacement and update this post afterwards. Either way, because of the flimsy loop, I’ve already ordered the Wallet Minder to stuff the Rewind Duo in. I hope their customer service is good; if not, I’m blasting them on every forum I can find. It’s too bad I can’t upload pictures to show everybody how crappy the loop on my wallet was.

    UPDATE 1

    ****************

I sent an e-mail to their customer service, after posting here, with an attached picture of the frayed-loop wallet. Simply put, their prompt reply was outstanding. According to the e-mail, they had already initiated the process to send me a replacement with a pre-paid label. They also said that out of the thousands they have sold, they’ve only received 2 reports of this defect. I have no reason to doubt them, since the quality of the one I have, excluding the loop, is top notch. The fit and finish looks just like it does in the picture, it slams shut and stays shut with the magnetic clasps, is stitched very nicely (rather than glued which always gums up over time), and has sensibly placed/sized pockets. I’ll update again after I receive the replacement. If all goes well, it looks like I’ll be hyping them on every forum I can find.
